Really BYU? Don't be so naive.

Brigham Young University recently suspended their up and coming star forward Brandon Davies for violating the school's Honor Code. Now this is completely understandable, discipline is necessary in society or else everything would go to Hell in a hand basket. Because it's like James Madison once said, " If men were angels, no government would be necessary."  My only issue with this policy is that BYU needs to realize whom exactly they're dealing with here. These are college students, teenagers exploring the world while also exploring themselves and I doubt that what will be encountered during that exploration will abide by the BYU's Honor Code.

  1. I don't know. I guess that they have higher standards for students that most universities. They chose to go there and they know the code...just sayin'.

  2. I thought about that afterwards and I must admit that there was some illogical thoughts present while writing this post. I imagine there are students all over the nation who attend this school SPECIFICALLY for this reason and it is a private institution in the end so what they so goes. I apologize if anyone disagrees with my previous opinion because I'm starting to disagree with it myself

  7. Yeah, I don't agree with the code myself, but I agree with their decision to suspend/remove him. He entered into the contract knowing full-well that was the agreement, so it's on him

  9. That's a bit strict to be honest. I agree with a certain level of discipline but only when it is warranted appropriately.

  23. Yeah i agree with the comments you made. If you're going to BYU you gotta understand it's not gonna be a normal college experience.

  24. While it may seem strict, he did chose to go there. I think far to often people think that their situation exempts them for the rules, but if rules are not enforced equally they have no meaning.
