Brigham Young University recently suspended their up and coming star forward Brandon Davies for violating the school's Honor Code. Now this is completely understandable, discipline is necessary in society or else everything would go to Hell in a hand basket. Because it's like James Madison once said, " If men were angels, no government would be necessary." My only issue with this policy is that BYU needs to realize whom exactly they're dealing with here. These are college students, teenagers exploring the world while also exploring themselves and I doubt that what will be encountered during that exploration will abide by the BYU's Honor Code.

I don't know. I guess that they have higher standards for students that most universities. They chose to go there and they know the code...just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteI thought about that afterwards and I must admit that there was some illogical thoughts present while writing this post. I imagine there are students all over the nation who attend this school SPECIFICALLY for this reason and it is a private institution in the end so what they so goes. I apologize if anyone disagrees with my previous opinion because I'm starting to disagree with it myself
ReplyDeleteGuess it's like they say, the rules are ment to be broken!
ReplyDeletebreak those rules man. who needs em?
ReplyDeleteI got busted for smoking ganj at msu and got like a slap on the wrist lol.
ReplyDeleteWell you better be careful at BYU because you can't even drink coffee or tea...that's just..too much for words
ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't agree with the code myself, but I agree with their decision to suspend/remove him. He entered into the contract knowing full-well that was the agreement, so it's on him
ReplyDeleteLike Harbenger, f--k the rules..
ReplyDeletegreat blog any way, following!
That's a bit strict to be honest. I agree with a certain level of discipline but only when it is warranted appropriately.
ReplyDeleteI saw this on the news last night. What a jail!!
ReplyDeleteNice post. Keep it up!

ReplyDeleteNo governement would be necessary? Don't think that would work, even when all were angels...
ReplyDeleteWell, what can ya do?
ReplyDeleteHaha nice story. Some guys are just idiotic.
ReplyDeletesometimes people follow the rules too close and don´t used common sense.
ReplyDeletewow interesting post! ill follow and support your blog man! :D
ReplyDeleteI agree with you.
ReplyDeletei like the code of Omerta, but unfortunately we live in a world where its "illegal" not to warn people coffee is hot, how weak
ReplyDeletedont know, i think its his own fault
ReplyDeletevery interesting post!
ReplyDeleteI agree - following
ReplyDeleteInteresting post. Did you read what happened at Northwestern University? Very similar but different at the same time. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteDumb rule but he signed on knowing full well what the rules were. He can go to any school he wants though!
ReplyDeleteYeah i agree with the comments you made. If you're going to BYU you gotta understand it's not gonna be a normal college experience.
ReplyDeleteWhile it may seem strict, he did chose to go there. I think far to often people think that their situation exempts them for the rules, but if rules are not enforced equally they have no meaning.
